Tartan for Autumn

Blogger style tartan leather brown yellow

A quickie post today, I’ve been v busy ahead of moving to a 4 day working week at my day job…something I’m able to afford thanks to my various money making and money saving sidelines. I’m so happy about this as it will give me more time spend with friends and family and also myself – to read, to listen to music, to look at the sky….#chooselife.

October is here and the cooler weather with it, but there is an up side to the incoming winter for those of us who love layering up and getting our big boots and coats on. I don’t have as much wardrobe space as I’d like, thanks to owning way too many clothes some seriously poor decision making at the wardrobe buying stage when we moved into our current house.

So I do tend to put my heavy winter woollies away in a suitcase for a few months and then swap them with the swimsuits and shorts round about now. Though I think it would be nice to have everything out and easily accessible at all times, it is fun to pull out clothes you’d kind of forgotten about (my old friend! you are looking SO well) and get excited about wearing them all over again. I haven’t actually done this yet though. This post is by way of gearing myself up mentally for the clearing out and re-organising to come but for now it’s still warm enough that tights, boots and a jacket make a sleeveless dress wearable. though I’ve definitely gone big on Autumn colours.

So from the weekend here is another green Lindy Bop dress (well actually black tartan with green and yellow stripes but I mentally think of it as  green) which you can actually still buy on their website for a bargainous £12 if you happen to be a size 8. Other sizes are still about at various retailers though the price is generally higher.Autumn outfit tartan, leather, brown and yellow

A nice tartan dress makes me a bit excited.

Worn my thrifted leather jacket again, a Zara bag which I got for £5 from the charity shop in the Leeds Uni student union (I love it because it fits all my nonsense in), and my beautiful Docs which I acquired in brand new condition for £65, around half RRP.

If there is a specific brand of clothes or shoes that you love, I would really recommend seeing if there is a Facebook group dedicated to buying/selling/swaps of said brand as you can get stuff that’s in really nice condition but still a lot cheaper than buying new.

Lindy bop tartan dress brown docs I would kind of like a mustard yellow biker jacket to wear with this, though I might need to tone down the tights. Watch this space…

Like those mustard tights, goes well with the tartan, can’t ever go wrong with coloured tights and tartan though. Use to love tartan when I was younger x

Tartan is such an autumn type pattern that looks fantastic under jumpers, on coats and even hats.
It’s such an easy pattern to wear, you can wear it with everything.
